Are you wasting your Marketing Budget in an Attempt to be Frugal?

In this business the most common scenario is a client trying to stretch their advertising budget.

I hear statements similar to this one below:

“We’re a small business with a limited budget, we need to make the most of our advertising dollars.”

This is a terrific goal and is prudent sentiment for anyone to have when running a successful business.
Advertising is a large expense in any business. Sadly, many business make expensive mistakes in trying to work within their small budgets. It isn’t uncommon that a business unintentionally wastes their advertising budget in an attempt to be frugal.

Some examples of common advertising mistakes:

  • No clear message in the advertising copy; oftentimes, saying too much in one message.
  • Not enough advertising scheduled for the message to make an impression.
  • Media vehicle not targeted demographically to a client’s prospective buyers.
  • Not utilizing all media available for a well rounded campaign.
  • No branding or imaging.
  • Utilizing amateur talent to do a professional job (Logo Art, Ad Copy, Voice-Over)
  • No “Call To Action”.
  • No ability to track results.
  • No cohesive ongoing marketing strategy.
